There's another DT call going on at Tiddly Inks, and I've decided to throw my hat in the ring one more time. This time I'm using the image Sk8tr. I decided to just go CAS this time, so no frills and fussy stuff on this one. CAS is really more my style, as I enjoy putting the effort into the colouring more than the decorating of the card, although sometimes a blinged up card is nice too.
I coloured this with Copics, and I used coordinating paper from the DCWV Nana's Kids mat stack. I love the bright primary colours for a boy's card and the simplicity of the style. Boys don't necessarily appreciate ribbons and flowers all over their cards. ;-)
Make sure you visit the Tiddly Inks store HERE! Check out some of the New Releases, and Christy has brought back freebies on Tuesdays. If you happen to pick up the freebie, colour it up and share it with everyone over at the TI Facebook page. And make sure you stay up to date with all the goings on by following her BLOG.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my skater dude! We'll see if he gets me on the DT. Either way, I really like this card. It's probably one of my favourites. I would probably keep it, but I have some nephews who have birthdays coming up that might appreciate it.

Mornings Are Overrated by Spunky Tart
Good Morning! A new make from me from Spunky Tart, which is an offshoot of Slinky Tart. These girls are a little more sassy than the Slinkies. Their motto is "Attitude with a capital A". Tamara has drawn up a lot of fabulous new girls and you should go check them out HERE. My project today is with "Mornings Are Overrated".
Heaven knows, I don't function without my coffee. Three or four cups of it. This was a fun one to do and I was so happy that Tamara asked me to colour her up for the shop.
I coloured her with Copics, used a Cricut embossing folder (the name of which I no longer know), and DCWV Retro stack papers. I cut the little coffee cup out with my Cameo and hand wrote "Coffee" with a white gel pen.
I hope you like her! Make sure you check out the new Spunky Tarts and the Slinky Tarts! They are in separate shops for the time being. Thanks for stopping by!
New Release at The East Wind "Lost Lagoon"
Today is Friday, which means another new release at The East Wind. It's a new Aurora image called 'Lost Lagoon'. This was so much fun to colour, but a challenge too with the view from beneath the water.
I coloured this with Copics, then cut out an oval frame from a Spellbinders die and used the negative space to frame the picture. I then matted it onto a Shabby Blue Charms digital paper from Michele R Designs.
There are a couple of challenges going on at The East Wind right now. There is a song inspiration challenge on the Facebook page, and there are twice monthly challenges on the blog. Make sure you check both places out for your chance to win free digital stamps from TEW.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Aurora 'Lost Lagoon'.

It Started With a Song
Today is the start of a brand new challenge in The East Wind's Facebook group. The theme is "It Started With a Song," and we want to see you make a project that is inspired by a song with a TEW image. When I was going through all the images, "Cat on the Head" screamed at me, "Disco!!" The afro was begging to be coloured. And what else is Lucy Loo but one of the ultimate "Bad Girls", the song by Donna Summer, although the song is about prostitutes, and I don't think Lucy is THAT bad.
The paper is from a DCWV Rock Star mat stack. I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the oval frame. I coloured her with Copics.
Here is Donna Summer herself singing about those "Bad Girls"
Make sure you check out the Facebook group and join in our challenge this month. Also, visit the blog HERE and check out the twice monthly challenges there too!! And if you're on Instagram, come follow me (@myndifraser) because we are going to start running contests for The East Wind on the 1st and 15th of every month! You don't want to miss out!

Flowers
My mother-in-law recently had a birthday and one of my favourite things to colour for her are flowers. In the summer, she has more flowers planted than anyone I know. She has flowers all over her farm, and flowers planted everywhere she can manage at her lakeside cabin. The Aurora Wings image Rose Corner 2 is what I chose to colour for her birthday this year.
I coloured this with Copics using R59, R56, RV34, RV32, RV11, and RV10 for the roses. I used the BG90's for the leaves. I kept it clean and simple and just adhered the flowers on a green mat and stamped "Birthday Blessings".
I'm entering this in the Aurora Wings Flowers challenge.

Tiddly Inks Blog Hop!
A few months ago I put my hat in the ring for the Tiddly Inks Design Team. Unfortunately, I didn't make the team, but Christy Croll (the artist for Tiddly Inks) named a bunch of us "Runners Up" and offered us the opportunity to do a blog hop. So here I am doing a Tiddly Inks blog hop, and hopefully it won't be my last!! I used a Sweet Tooth image called "Friends Make Life Sweeter" for my card.
The flowers and filigree corner are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lace is from Live and Love Crafts. I coloured this with Copics. I also used a Clear Star Gelly Roll glitter gel pen for accents, which hopefully you can see in the picture below.
I want to thank Christy for giving me the opportunity to participate in the blog hop. I'll be trying again for a DT spot, as there is another DT call going on right now! There have been some new images released, plus there is a freebie every Tuesday at Tiddly Inks. You should make sure you sign up for their newsletter so you stay up to date with the goings on over there.
Thanks for visiting! I hope you liked it!

Recycle Something at Open-Minded Crafting Fun
It's a Recycle Something theme this week at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges. I managed to recycle an aluminum can and some newspaper, plus the paper I color on is 100% recycled. This was actually pretty hard for me. I had a hard time thinking out of the box.
Our sponsors for this challenge are Andrea's Lil Pixels, Dr. Digis House of Stamps, Smeared Ink, and Stitchy Bears Digi Shop. There are some great prizes to be won, so go get your craft on and see what you can find to recycle.
I used Gnome Sweet Gnome from Dr. Digis for my project. I colored it with Copics.
Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you join in on our challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun! The "Recycle Something" challenge ends at midnight on April 24, 2015.

Spring at Ppinkydolls
Spring has sprung, even where I live in Alberta. The snow has melted and the trees are starting to bloom. I'm so glad winter is over. It's my least favourite season of the year. Ppinkydolls has some great new Spring themed digital stamps. One of my favourites spring stamps though is an older one, "Raining Day". I've used that one for one of my cards today. The other is "Owl", and I have made two totally different cards to share with you in terms of style. One is pretty simple, the other a little more dressed up.
The first one is "Owl". I used papers from Michele R Designs and embellishments from Bo Bunny, Live & Love Crafts, and Wild Orchid crafts. I used a Spellbinders die for the die cut around the image. I also used Tim Holtz distress inks in Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass, along with Shabby Pink Frantage around the image. Of course, I coloured her with Copics. I kept the colours soft and muted.

The second card I made is "Raining Day," and has a totally different feel. The colours are bright and Springy! Since I did so much on the scene around her, I didn't dress the card up. I kept it simple. I also coloured her with Copics.

Make sure you check out the Facebook challenge going on in the Ppinkydolls Facebook group this month!! The theme is Easter. Here are a couple of the Easter digis I coloured up, but have been so busy I haven't been able to put them both on cards:
Two Bunny Friends |

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hello! from The East Wind
Hello! It's new release Tuesday over at The East Wind. Today's new release is an Unkytoon called "Hello".
I did it a little differently than usual and put the image on the inside of the card. I used my Cameo to cut out two cherry blossom cards. I adhered the cherry blossom sides together and made it a little book, leaving the back sides of the cards separate so it made two pages. I put my image on the inside page and left the back page empty for a note.
You can see the book style here, with the blank page at the back. |

I really like how this turned out and might make a couple more like it. I hope you liked it too!
Make sure you check out The East Wind blog for twice monthly challenges, and our Facebook group for a monthly challenge. Right now our challenge is Make It Krafty, so colour up a TEW image on kraft paper. It was quite a challenge for me this month as well! Thanks for stopping by!

'Oh Sweet Amy'
What a crazy time we had in Facebook-land last week. Some of you might have heard that Slinky Tart images have been banned from a certain Facebook group because they are considered too sexy. Well, there is a new group on Facebook called Outside the Lines, which is going to be holding challenges to push you out of your comfort zone. And no image is too risque. Make sure you check it out and get in on the fun! If you want to join Slinky Tart's Facebook group, you will have to ask one of the Admin because it is a Secret group and you can't see it if you search for it. I am one of the Admin, so pop me a message on FB if you want in.
This is my DT inspiration week for Slinky Tart. I decided to use "Oh Sweet Amy" which is one of the newest releases. She's definitely channeling a little Amy Winehouse here.
All of the paper I used is from a coordinating Black Currant stack from DCWV. Flowers are from I Am Roses; the filigree corner is a die from LaLa Land Crafts. The Copics I used are as follows:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04
Eyes - B34, B32 and Black Prismacolor Pencil
Hair - W7, W5, W3
Lingerie and Hair Bow - RV69, RV66, RV63, RV52
I used a Gold Gel pen on her earrings and the brooch on her top.
I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Left Of Center Creative Challenges - Spots and/or Stripes
Crafty Creations Challenges- Seeing Spots

New Release at The East Wind
It's Friday and another new release is out at The East Wind's Etsy shop. Today's new release is Lucy Loo 'Ninja'.
I coloured her up with Copics, using the usual skin tone colours (E000, E00, E21, E11, E04) and C00, C01, C03, C05, C07, C09, and the R30s.
I am currently on a ski holiday with my family, so while I was able to colour her up, I haven't been able to make a project with her yet. Once I get home and get that done I will post an update.
Make sure you stop by the blog for the twice monthly challenges, and The East Wind's Facebook group for our current "Make It Krafty" challenge.
Thanks for stopping by!
