We are at the halfway point of our Joyous Occasion challenge on the Aurora Wings Challenge blog. It is time for the Stella Team to bring you our inspiration pieces for the next half of the challenge, and I made a birthday card for my niece using "Marie Antoinette". I cropped the image and printed it out at about 4" square. I really wanted to get into the fine details of this image which is why I cropped it and printed it off bigger than usual (my norm is 3.5"). My completed card is 5x5 inches.
I coloured the image with Copics. I used white vellum for the back mat, then layered cheesecloth and lace on top of that. I matted my image on black so it would really pop, and I love the contrast you get layering on black. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Now pop on over to the challenge blog, if you haven't been there already, check out the other inspiration pieces and show us what you got! This challenge runs through June 16.
Our prizes this challenge will include:
1(one) Artist's Choice Winner to be chosen by Mitzi from all entries using an Aurora Wings image (Custom badge+3 single digital images)
1(one) Random Winner (3 single digital images)
Top 3 To be selected by the Design Teams from all entries (Custom badge+1 single digital image each)

Love how you've cropped Marie and your absolutely stunning coloring, Myndi. The black mat and ultra frothy feminine details are especially fitting for the image as is the wonderful birthday sentiment. I'm sure your niece will be thrilled with this gorgeous card. Happy birthday to her. xxD

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful birthday card, Myndi! I love how you cropped the Marie Antoinette image and the shape of the paper and black mat. Coloring is beautiful, and the white-on-white details and little flowers reminds me of cake decorations. What a wonderful touch! Thank you so much for this delightful inspiration for today's post at Aurora Wings! Mitzi xxx
