Santa Needs a Hug

Santa Needs a Hug
Rubbernecker Stamps coming at you today with this awesome "Santa Needs A Hug" rubber stamp. I love all of these new Santa stamps. They are just perfect. I also used the "Laughter and Joy" sentiment stamp (also new). I coloured the stamp with Copics. All of my paper is from Stampin' Up. I actually matted the sentiment on an extra wide piece of ribbon. How do you like my little ornament die cuts?? I got a new die set from Stampin' Up, and all the dies are just too cute! I can see making lots of gift tags this Christmas.

Remember, commenting on our Design Team's posts every week automatically enters you to win all of the stamps used on one of the DT gal's project. We don't know which designer's project will be chosen, and the winner will be chosen by random. So visit the Rubbernecker blog, leave some kind words on all of our DT's blogs, and maybe you will be this week's winner! For all the details visit the challenge page on the blog HERE.

New TEW Challenge on Facebook

It's the 21st of the month and that means it's time for a new contest in The East Wind's Facebook group!! This month's theme is "Leaf Me Alone". We want you to use a TEW image with a leaf in it, or incorporate leaves into your project. I am trying to get Christmas cards done ON TIME this year, for a change, so I used 'Aurora Holly and Olive' for my card.

Aurora Holly & Olive
As I have been doing, I used a sketch from a book a friend of mine is compiling. I think it really helped me with the design of the card. I was able to use a few different papers from my new Stampin' Up This Christmas designer paper collection and the coordinating This Christmas cardstock. I also used the Holly Textured embossing folder for the small circle die cuts and for the red background mat. My embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Live & Love Crafts.

I coloured the image with Copics, using E20's for her hair. The berries are R59, R29, R27, R24. I left a little white space on them. I used two different green combos for the leaves since they are different plants. The holly is G99, G29, G17, G05. The olive is YG17, YG06, YG03.

Please drop by the Facebook group and join in on this challenge. The top prize is three free digis of your choice, plus there is a winner up prize of a 25% off coupon to the TEW Etsy store. There are also TWICE monthly challenges on the BLOG and a freebie is sent out on the first of every month in the newsletter. Look for the pink box on the blog's homepage to sign up for that.

New Challenge at The East Wind

It's the 21st and time for another challenge in The East Wind's Facebook group. The theme this month is "R U Kidding Me?" You need to make a card with a TEW image that is child themed or for a child. I used "Dancing with Polar Bear" for my DT inspiration, which was the freebie image from January. I managed to get a jumpstart on my Christmas card making with this one, and let's hope I keep going. Last year I totally failed in that department.

I coloured the image with Copics, and used some Shabby White Frantage to create a snow effect around them. All of my DP is from Stampin' Up. It's from last season and it's not available anymore, but I will have some new Christmas cards to post in the near future using this season's Christmas paper. It's so pretty, I hate to cut it! My sentiment is also from Stampin' Up, as is the ink I used (Garden Green).

In addition to our challenge on Facebook, there are also twice monthly challenges on the BLOG. The newsletter you should be signed up for has a freebie for you on the 1st of every month (like the awesome image I used), so go to the blog and look for the bright pink box to sign up for that if you aren't already. And why aren't you??? Who doesn't want free images?!

Rubbernecker Stamps - Wildflowers in the Wind

It's Rubbernecker Stamps Team 1 release day today, and here is my make featuring another watercolour stamp set called Wildflowers in the Wind. I have also incorporated two other stamp sets that I've used previously: Freehand Border Phrase set 900 and Star Flower

Wildflowers in the Wind

I used Stampin' Up paper and ink so the colours would all tie in together. I used the SU Brights paper and ink. You can see I used the Star Flower stamp as a background on the Rich Razzleberry and the Melon Mambo paper, which I clear embossed for some dimension. I cut out the freehand circle by hand, but used a By Diezyne stitched circle die for the mat under it. The fabric coloured butterfly is from Live & Love Crafts.

Please check out our other DT creations at the Rubbernecker blog HERE. They are so fantastic and such an inspiration!! Make sure you check out the ongoing Rubbernecker challenge on the BLOG for your chance to win all the stamps used on the card you comment on. I used 3 sets for this card, which I think are valued at over $30 USD in total, so that's quite a prize. Check out the Current Challenge on the blog for all the details.

Rubbernecker Showcase - Star Flower

I am back today with another Rubbernecker Stamps card using two stamps: Star Flower background stamp and Weeds Be Wildflowers sentiment stamp. I like the idea of using backgrounds stamps to make ordinary cardstock extraordinary. Designer Paper can be so expensive sometimes and taking a plain piece of cardstock, a large background stamp, and some embossing powder is the perfect way to give it some zing. I used Stampendous Kaleidoscope embossing powder to make this card, but the shimmer would not photograph no matter what angle I snapped it from.

Below you can see a close up picture of my embossed Pink Pirouette Stampin' Up paper with the Kaleidoscope embossing powder. My other DP is from Bo Bunny.

Make sure you check out the Rubbernecker blog for almost daily inspiration from our amazing Design Team. They are killing it!!

Bobbed - A New Release from TEW

It's new release day at The East Wind, and today we have "Bobbed". She is full of attitude! I couldn't wait to colour her up. I coloured the image with Copics. I stamped flowers using Everything Eleanor rubber stamps by Stampin' Up on black paper with black ink and then used clear embossing powder to make them pop.

There is a new contest in our Facebook group with the theme "I've Been Framed!". See my earlier post for this HERE. There are digis to be won so drop by the group and show us your take on the theme. The post is pinned to the top of the page! There are also twice monthly challenges on the blog HERE. Check them out and sign up for the newsletter while you're there to get your freebie image on the 1st of every month.

We just posted a new kids colouring contest using Aurora "Spring Butterfly" too. Check the post for a special 60% discount on the image (you'll need to be a member of the TEW Facebook group).

New Release Day at The East Wind

Today's new release is "Merditation", a mediating mermaid. BUT... I didn't get that she was a mermaid when I coloured her. Oh well, that's art for you: it's open to interpretation!

I coloured the image with Copics, and all my papers are from Stampin' Up. I also used the Petite Petals rubber stamps and paper punch, which are perfectly coordinated. I just stamp the flowers and then punch them out. Easy peasy!  I also used inks from the Subtles collection. I used stitched oval and stitched flag dies from By DieZyne.

There is still some time to join in on our challenge this month at our Facebook group HERE. The theme is With Heart. Check it out! Thanks for stopping by!

Elfy Holidays

I FINALLY got around to getting one of the new Christmas inspired images from Tiddly Inks coloured up. Christy Croll asked for suggestions and I suggested an elf Wryn, and holy smokes!!, she drew one. So of course, I had to buy her. The name of the image is Elfy Holidays.

I coloured her with Copics. The striped paper is from Stampin' Up, the glitter paper is scraps leftover from last year and I can't tell you what brand. The sentiment is from Verve Stamps, and I used By Diezyne stitched circle dies. I am entering this into Tiddly Inks' Holly Jolly challenge on their blog.

Thanks for stopping by and having a peek!! xx
