Merry Christmas from Rubbernecker Stamps!

Merry Christmas everyone! We are doing a special Christmas post at the Rubbernecker blog and most, if not all, of the Design Team is participating in our run up to the holidays!

I made a card with the "Snow Flake Frame" and the "Season of Gladness" sentiment stamp. I wanted it to look a little vintage, and I hope I succeeded at least a little. I used some beautiful Christmas  ribbon from May Arts, and some star chipboard shapes from Southern Ridge Trading Co. I used Versamark ink and gold embossing powder to make them gold. I used some Sizzix Christmas ornament dies from Stampin' Up for the circle and the tiny little ornament shape up near the starts. I've tucked it behind the ribbon so you really have to look for it. ;-)

I hope you like how it turned out. I'm kind of in love with it, to tell the truth. 💗💗 We will back in the New Year with some new inspiration for you and some new challenges. In the meantime, enjoy your holidays and your families. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

More Christmas!

Today I am bringing you another Christmas card using the "Snowflakes and Stardust" set. I heat embossed the tree with green glitter embossing powder. As usual the picture does not do it justice. even angling the card did not catch the light like I wanted, so you will have to take my word for it. 😉 My paper is from Bazill and Stampin' Up.

We will be bringing you a special Christmas post on Christmas Day that features all of the Rubbernecker Designers. Make sure you check back in for that one. There will also be a New Years post, but all challenges for 2017 are currently over. They will be back in January and we hope you will join us on the blog for a chance to win a couple of awesome prizes.

Getting Ready for Christmas

Christmas is right around the corner and it's time to start sharing some Christmas cards I've made with Rubbernecker Stamps "Snowflakes and Stardust" set. There are a lot of stamps included in this set: sentiments, trees, snowflakes. It's really very versatile and you could make a half dozen cards or more with this one set alone. I used one of the swirly trees, a sentiment, and one of the snowflakes.

I used red glitter embossing powder on the tree, and silver on the snowflakes. It is nice and sparkly in person. A picture does not always do a good job of catching the light to see the detail when you have heat embossed an image. All of my paper is from Stampin' Up.

We will be bringing you a special Christmas post on Christmas Day that features all of the Rubbernecker Designers. Make sure you check back in for that one. There are not any more challenges for the remainder of 2017. They will pick back up again January!

Anything But A Card Challenge

A new challenge is up on the Aurora Wings Challenge blog and the theme is "Anything But A Card". I made gift tags and ornaments, using mostly Holiday sprites in addition to the Kitten in a Stocking and the Christmas Puppy stamps. I will add links for each image at the end of my post so you can easily find them. :-)

I coloured the images with Copics and some Clear Star Gelly Roll pen. I only printed them out at 2" tall because that is how big the tag punch and ornament dies are. I didn't have a lot of space to colour with the images being so small, so I stayed away from images that were too detailed. My kids actually want to colour their own ornaments now, so that is going to be a fun little activity for us in the near future. In the picture below you can see how I decorated the other side with some of the other dies from the framelits set I used. It is from Stampin' Up and it's called "Merry Tags".

Pop on over to the challenge blog to enter your creation(s). You can enter up to THREE times if you use an AW image on each entry! The prizes for this challenge are: 1 (one) Artist's Choice Award Winner to be selected from entries using Aurora Wings digis ($20 GC and Badge); 1 (one)  Random Winner ($20 GC); and a TOP 3 Winners to be chosen by the DT ($10 GC and Badge). This challenge runs until January 13. You have extra time with this one because of the holidays so if you have some free time show us what you can come up with!

Aurora Wings Showcase

There are three Holiday sprites coming out today at Aurora Wings that were previously only available in the Sprites colouring book. But now you can purchase the individual images in the AW stores, and they are all featured in a special showcase HERE at the Aurora Wings Showcase blog. I made a tag with the Sugar Plum Sprite.

I coloured the image with Copics using R80's for the pink. The tag cutout I did on my Cameo. I added some thin ribbons on the present cutouts, and bordered it with string pearls. I used Shabby Pink Frantage on the back layer beneath the image. Below is a close up angled shot of the finished image. Hopefully you can see the Frosted Lace Stickles I used on the parts I thought were meant to be sparkly. I also used a Molotow paint pen for highlights before I applied the Stickles. I used a clear glitter gel pen on her crown.

Make sure you check out all of the amazing other creations that the DT put together for you as inspiration. These are just in time for some last minute cards or tag ideas for Christmas. There are coupon codes for this weekend as well:

Below are all the listings for the new Sprites. Also available are also Hot Cocoa Sprite and Snowflake Sprite:

Wildflower Joy

It's Sweet Sunday and I am bringing you another watercolor stamp. These used to intimidate me a bit, and I struggled in the beginning with using the multi-step stamping, but I'm starting to really get the hang of it! This one only took me one try!! That's a record! This one is called "Wildflower Joy". I also used a phrase from the Freehand Border Phrase Set.

I used Ranger Ink for the black because it is waterproof. I stamp the black FIRST, then give it a few minutes to dry before I prep the paper. I prep my watercolour paper (in the Rubbernecker store) beforehand by spraying it a few times and letting it sit for a couple minutes before I stamped. Then I held the stamp down on the paper for about ten seconds before picking it up. It gives the ink time to really settle into the paper before you lift it up. I used three ink colours from Stampin' Up for this: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight. I put all three on the stamp at once and then spritzed it with some water a few times so the ink was wet and would give me the watercolour look we want with these stamps.

Make sure you stop by the BLOG to check out the current challenge. It runs for one more week, so don't let time run out! There are $25 and $15 gift certificates up for grabs.

A Successful Marriage

Happy Monday! I'm starting off Rubbernecker Stamps Team 1 week with a simple card just using a sentiment stamp. I have an anniversary coming up so I kept my husband in mind when making this card. Nothing too frilly or girly but I had to add in the hearts cut out (which is a cut file for my Cameo). The stamp is called "Successful Marriage".

I actually heat embossed Kaleidoscope embossing powder on the hearts cut out, but you can't see it in this picture, or any picture that I took trying to get it to show up. It's a subtle shimmer and no matter how I positioned it in the light, I just could not get it to shine for the camera. Oh, well... You'll have to take my word for it. 😉 The pearl accents are from Stampin' Up, and the other paper is from my stash. I'm really trying to use some of that up because it is overflowing from the drawer I keep it in.

Tomorrow is the start of another challenge on the BLOG, and our challenge team is going to have some amazing inspiration for you. Make sure you are visiting the blog every other Tuesday to see what the new theme is. You will have a chance to win a $25 or $15 gift certificate for first and second place respectively.

Door with Step

It's Team 1's Sweet Sunday and I'm bringing you a cute little stamp called "Door with Steps". It's so versatile for any kind of little Hello! card or housewarming card.

I coloured it with Copic markers, and used paper from my scrap stash to put it all together. It is really a cute and easy card to make for just about anyone and anything.

Make sure you stop by the BLOG to check out the current challenge. It runs for one more week, so don't let time run out! There are $25 and $15 gift certificates up for grabs.

Splash Party

Happy Monday! Today I'm bringing you a card with the watercolor stamp "Splash Party" and "Hope You Dance". I love flamingos! And this was such a fun stamp set to work with. It's a 3 part stamp, but it was super easy to use.

I used Stampin' Up ink in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo, and black Ranger Ink. My DP is also from SU from the Cupcakes and Carousels collection. The watercolor paper is from Rubbernecker. You can get it HERE. I always prep my watercolor color by spritzing it with water BEFORE I stamp. Then I ink my stamp and give it a few mists with some water before laying it on the paper. Then I hold it down for about 10 seconds or so to give the ink time to sink into the paper.

Recycle Something Challenge

Its time for a new challenge at Aurora Wings and the theme this round is "Recycle Something". I love to collect boxes and I always have the intention to repurpose them but vey rarely do. This was the perfect opportunity to give it a go. Last Christmas I saved a Starbucks gift box from the trash. It was just a plain green cardboard box. (I almost forgot to take "before" pics so here you can see that I've already papered the box, but the lid is still unaltered.)

I chose the image Christmas Floral for my project. I used Stampin' Up designer series Christmas paper from last year and Mod Podge to decorate the box and transform it from a ordinary green box. I debated papering the lid as well, but I liked the way the image stood out on the solid green. After I used Mod Podge to glue on the paper, I went over the paper with it to give it a little shine and seal it.

I coloured the image with Copics, using a variety of greens and the R30s. I adhered the image with Mod Podge and then applied another coat over it to seal it.

This challenge runs until November 18.

Cats in a Tree

Sweet Sunday is here again! It's Team 1's time to shine. I used the stamps "3 Cats in a Tree" and "Your Own Drum" on this card. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils.

The paper is from my recycling stash; I have loads of scrap paper from previous cards and crafts.

Make sure you stop by the BLOG to check out the current challenge. It runs for one more week, so don't let time run out! There are $25 and $15 gift certificates up for grabs.

Well, Just Because

Another Monday, and some more wine and coffee humor from Rubbernecker Stamps. I used the stamps "Well Just Because" and "Wine Glass".

I used Stampin' Up paper from the Brights collection and a paisley embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the back mat. I also used By Diezyne stitched dies for the flag and circle die cuts.

Tomorrow is the start of another challenge on the BLOG, and our challenge team is going to have some amazing inspiration for you. Sweet Sunday

Time for the Sweet Sunday post for Team 1 at Rubbernecker Stamps! I made a card that could be used for any occasion with this lovely scene stamp called "Bike on the Street". There are a few of these scene stamps that I really love and I will be bringing you a couple more in the near future.

Bike on the Street
I also used the Nested Square Stitch Dies for this card. It's a very versatile set and I obviously like to use them a lot! I used the Moroccan Nights Designer Series paper from Stampin' Up and the coordinating washi tape and cardstock for this card. I coloured the image with Copic markers. I coloured in my own grass behind the fence for a little added detail.

Make sure you stop by the BLOG to check out the current challenge. It runs for one more week, so don't let time run out! There are $25 and $15 gift certificates up for grabs.

Out of Jail

Happy Monday to all you lovely people out there! We are back at the beginning of another Team 1 week at Rubbernecker Stamps and I have another coffee stamp to bring you.
Out of Jail
"Out of Jail" is one of the newer sentiment stamps released this year. I had some cute coffee and tea paper that I used for this card along with the Square Stitch Dies that are also available from Rubbernecker. I love these dies! I always get a perfect cut with them.

Tomorrow is the start of another challenge on the BLOG, and our challenge team is going to have some amazing inspiration for you. Clean and Simple Challenge

CAS Challenge
Time for a new challenge at Aurora Wings and the theme is Clean and Simple. This is one of my favorite challenge themes because sometimes I hate to take away from Mitzi's images with a bunch of embellishments. Her images can be so detailed that adding any more detail feels like a disservice to her art.

Poppy Sprite
I chose Poppy Sprite for this card. I definitely spent more time colouring the image than I did designing the card. The colouring took me a few hours, the card took about 20 minutes. I matted the image on black and green and affixed it to a white card base that I embossed with a Cuttlebug damask embossing folder. The image really shines on such a simple layout. I debated adding a sentiment but decided against it in the end. I love how the red pops out on that white base. I'm really happy with how this turned out.

This challenge runs until October 14.

I'm Outdoorsy

I'm really not... But this sentiment pretty much sums me up and brings us to the Sweet Sunday post for Team 1 at the Rubbernecker Stamps blog. Make sure you stop by there to see my fellow DT ladies' beautiful creations.

Outdoorsy and Wine Bottle are the highlights of this new card for Rubbernecker Stamps. We started the week off with coffee and we're ending it with wine. Seems fitting! I used the Moroccan Nights DP from Stampin' Up for my card, along with their coordinating washi tape and enamel dots. I also used stitched circle dies. You can get a set of stitched circle dies HERE at the Rubbernecker store.

Make sure you stop by the BLOG to check out the current challenge. It runs for one more week, so don't let time run out! There are $25 and $15 gift certificates up for grabs.

You Can't Buy Happiness...

But you can buy coffee and it's the same thing. 😉 Which brings me to today's card and the only way to start off a Monday... COFFEE! Here is a new Rubbernecker card from me with a new sentiment stamp called "Can't Buy Happiness" and "Corinne":
Corinne and You Can't Buy Happiness
My paper is from Stampin' Up. I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils. I was going to use Copics but I used the wrong ink to stamp the image with so I went with pencils instead of re-stamping the image. I added a little pink mesh ribbon to the mat, and used By Diezyne dies for the die cuts. Both of the stamps I used are red rubber. I like rubber better than the clear stamps, just because of how they stamp, but I do like to see exactly where the image is going with some stamps. It helps to align things. I guess both have their perks.

Hope, Faith, and Miracles

It's Sweet Sunday at the Rubbernecker Stampsblog and I have a perfect sentiment for a Sunday: Hope, Faith, and Miracles. The new sentiment stamp Miracles Happen along with the Leaf Cross rubber stamp are the highlights of my card today.
Leaf Cross
I heat embossed both of my stamps today. The cross is done with Glacier embossing powder, the sentiment is done with Ebony from Recollections (by Michael's). I used Stitched Oval die cuts from By DieZyne and the Moroccan Screen embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The blue paper and the white cardstock is from Stampin' Up, the other is from Recollections.

LOVE

Love is All You Need... So here you go... My card to start off Rubbernecker Stamps Team 1 week of awesome stamping inspiration:

All You Need
I used "All You Need" for my card. I heat embossed it using Versamark ink and Recollections Raspberry embossing powder. My die cut is from Stampin' Up, as is all the paper. The burlap I picked up at the dollar store. The oval stitched dies are from By DieZyne.

Anything Goes Challenge at Aurora Wings

Happy Monday! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend. I will be spending the last weekend of summer before school starts on the lake (weather permitting). I got this little project finished up for our newest challenge at Aurora Wings, and it's an Anything Goes challenge! I used the image "Lady Blossom" for my card and I coloured the flowers in her hair in a rainbow pattern just for fun.

Lady Blossom
I coloured the image with Copics. I wanted to do a bright and light rainbow combo for this and I really like the way it turned out. There are also some Sickles dotted throughout the image for some added sparkle but they are pretty hard to see in this picture. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The flower die cut is from Stampin' Up. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Juli's Flowers for the blue paper.

Pop on over to the challenge blog to enter your creation(s). You can enter up to THREE times if you use an AW image on each entry! Wine!!

And it's Sunday!! Hope you all enjoyed your week and your weekend! It's time to wrap things up for Team 1 this week with our Sweet Sunday post, and let's celebrate with some Wine!!

I used the Watercolour Red Wine stamp set, the Wine sentiment, and the Accent Dot Set. For my wine colour I used the Ken Oliver Colour Burst set in Brights. I mixed the Crimson and the Violet in a little spray bottle, added some water to make a colour spray, and spritzed my stamp and stamped it. For the glass colour I used Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress ink and then spritzed it with a little water for the watercolour effect. The paper is just scraps from my stash; the blue velvet ribbon is from May Arts.

Make sure you stop by the BLOG to check out the newest challenge. It runs for one more week, so don't let time run out! There are $25 and $15 gift certificates up for grabs.

Coffee!!

How appropriate is it that it's Monday and this is my card for today's Rubbernecker Team 1 kick off?? I wish this to all my coffee drinkers out there:

May Your Coffee
I used an espresso coloured pigment ink and heat embossed the sentiment with some clear Stampendous embossing powder, along with the coffee bean background stamp, which I stamped on some kraft paper. The flower paper is from Kaisercraft and the vanilla paper is from SU. I picked up the burplap from the dollar store (score!!!). The pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I was on vacation for our last rotation. We took a trip to Sturgis for the annual motorcycle rally they have there, and my MIL watched our kids so we were really able to relax and enjoy oursleves. It was a nice break but I'm ready to get back to crafting. School is just around the corner (we start after Labour Day) and I will have some peace and quiet for 3 hours a day because the twins start Kindergarten this year. Yay!!

Welcome to a new challenge at Aurora Wings. The challenge theme is Elements (earth, fire, water, air). I chose water as my element and used this cute image
Sea Turtle Kiss (full version) for my card.

I coloured the image with Copics. I went for a two tone purple and gold tail, using a very light pink (RV10) to blend the purple and yellow. My paper is from the Stampin' Up collection Cupcakes & Carousels.

Pop on over to the challenge blog to enter your creation(s) and visit the other über-talented DT ladies. Christmas in July

It's Sweet Sunday Team Inspiration Day at Rubbernecker Stamps and its Team 1's time to shine. I'm in a Christmas mood this week so I got busy making a Christmas card with this adorable little "Penguin with Bowtie".

I also used the "Season of Gladness" and "Merry Christmas frame" stamps, as well as the "Nested Square Stitch Dies". This is a cute and easy card to make so if you have a lot of cards to make, this is one you could do a lot of pretty quickly. And I have to say, I've used these square stitch dies several times and I just LOVE them! They are so versatile and they cut nice and clean.

Check out our newest blog challenge for your chance to win either a $25 or $15 gift certificate to the store. JUST CLICK HERE. Our new challenge team will be going live for our next challenge so keep your eyes open for that!
