New Release at Ppinkydolls

Hello everyone, and Happy Friday!! It is a long weekend here in Canada, and of course the weather is supposed to be lousy. I will take that as an opportunity to craft as much as possible! Today I have a new release from Ppinkydolls and another that she released last month. They are both super cute!!

The first one is "With My Pet". She was just released a couple of days ago. How precious is she?! I used Copics to colour her, and Shabby Blue Charms digital papers from Michele R. I tried to link back to the papers, but it appears the Shabby Blue isn't available anymore. Check out her shop HERE though. She has a lot of beautiful papers to choose from. I punched the butterflies out with a Martha Stewart punch; the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used a By DieZyne stitched bracket die for the image.

The next one is "Abi". I coloured her up for the Etsy shop and finally got around to putting her on a card. She is probably one of my favourites! I also coloured her with Copics after cutting her out with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Floral Ovals die. I used Michele R Vintage Flowers digital papers and flowers from I Am Roses. The lace is from Live & Love Crafts.

I really love Ppinkydolls for making shabby themed cards. I think they work really well. For anyone interested in colouring Ppinkydolls, you might want to lighten the image before printing so the shading isn't so dark. It is the question I get asked the most, "Why doesn't yours look as shaded as the one in the store?" I always lighten the image before printing. I then have to go over their eyes with either black colour pencil, or I use W7 or W9 to darken those black areas back up.

Make sure you check out the Ppinkydolls Facebook page for monthly contests and occasional freebies!!

Shabby Chic at Open-Minded Crafting Fun

Another challenge is on at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges, and the theme is Shabby Chic. As usual, we have some awesome sponsors offering some awesome prizes for this challenge: Kith & Kin Digital Stamp Co. (5 images), All Dressed Up (2 images), Ppinkydolls Art (3 images), and The East Wind (3 images). The deadline for this challenge is midnight on Friday, May 8. The winners for the prizes from our sponsors are chosen by random generator, so everyone has an equal chance of winning. Don't be afraid to join in! Winners will be posted on Saturday, May 16.

I used an image from Ppinkydolls Art called "Mily." As luck would have it, after I chose to do a Ppinkydolls image for this challenge, Chrishanthi (the artist at Ppinkydolls) asked me to be on her DT! And she asked me to colour this image up for her to post in her Etsy shop. So if you click on my "Mily" link and see that the Mily in the shop is coloured the same as the Mily on my card, it's because it is one and the same. I didn't copy the shop one, I coloured the shop one! lol!

I used Michele R Design Shabby Chic digital papers and Elements, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Majestic Labels eight die set by Spellbinders, a butterfly punch by Martha Stewart Crafts, and the ruffled lace is from Live & Love Crafts. I coloured her with Copics. I inked up the edges of the image with Victorian Velvet distress ink by Tim Holtz.

I hope you like it! Thanks so much for stopping by! Feel free to leave some love below! <3

Spring at Ppinkydolls

Spring has sprung, even where I live in Alberta. The snow has melted and the trees are starting to bloom. I'm so glad winter is over. It's my least favourite season of the year. Ppinkydolls has some great new Spring themed digital stamps. One of my favourites spring stamps though is an older one, "Raining Day". I've used that one for one of my cards today. The other is "Owl", and I have made two totally different cards to share with you in terms of style. One is pretty simple, the other a little more dressed up.

The first one is "Owl". I used papers from Michele R Designs and embellishments from Bo Bunny, Live & Love Crafts, and Wild Orchid crafts. I used a Spellbinders die for the die cut around the image. I also used Tim Holtz distress inks in Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass, along with Shabby Pink Frantage around the image. Of course, I coloured her with Copics. I kept the colours soft and muted.

"Owl"

The second card I made is "Raining Day," and has a totally different feel. The colours are bright and Springy! Since I did so much on the scene around her, I didn't dress the card up. I kept it simple. I also coloured her with Copics.

"Raining Day"

Make sure you check out the Facebook challenge going on in the Ppinkydolls Facebook group this month!! The theme is Easter. Here are a couple of the Easter digis I coloured up, but have been so busy I haven't been able to put them both on cards:

Two Bunny Friends
Mrs. Rabbit
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I'm entering my "Raining Day" card into:

I'm entering "Owl" into:

Ppinkydolls!!

I have such an exciting announcement today! A couple weeks ago Chrishanthi at Ppinkydolls asked me to be on her Design Team!! It is always a thrill to be asked to be on someone's DT because it  means someone appreciates what you do, and that is always a great feeling. I really love her images. They are quirky and unique, and I love things that are out of the mainstream.

There is a Facebook challenge going on right now at the Ppinkydolls Facebook page, with the theme "Spring Friends". Submit an entry made with a Ppinkydolls image that has a Ppinky girl with an animal friend. EVERYONE that enters gets a free digi after the close of the challenge.

I have two DT inspiration projects for you today. My first one is "How Beautiful".

I coloured this with Copics. The paper is from Michele R Designs digital papers in Shabby Blue Charms, the pearls, flowers, dove and lace are all from Wild Orchid Crafts; the ribbon is from Michaels.
The Copics I used are:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04
Hair - E40's
Dress - V000, V01, V02, V04, V08
I dabbed Tim Holtz distress inks in Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade around the image with a damp sea sponge.

My second project is with the image "Unicorn Leslie".

I also coloured this with Copics. The paper is again from Michele R Designs, all my embellies are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The little butterfly I made with my Cameo. I actually made an entire sheet of them out of white cardstock and I will just colour them up as needed to match my projects. This one is dyed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Tattered Rose. I dabbed around the image with a sea sponge using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Tattered Rose, Tumbled Glass, and Broken China.
Copics used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04
Hair - E50, E53, E55
Dress - B0000, B00, B02, B04, B05, B39
Unicorn - C00, C1, C3, C5 and R80's for it's mane
I really tested my art skills here and tried to draw a little cobblestone path with W7-W0 to ground the image. Drawing is not something I'm good at, but I think it turned out okay.

I hope you like how my cards turned out! Thank you for stopping by and letting me share them with you. Make sure you check out the Ppinkydolls Facebook page, and her Etsy shop for a lot more of these fabulous images.

I'm entering this in The Corrosive Challenge Our Animal Friends challenge
