The East Wind New Release Friday

Lucky me! I got to color up The East Wind's new release Lucy Loo 'Lucy' for my DT project this week! I love all TEW images, but Lucy Loo has to be my favourite. I might have said that before. ;-)

Lucy Loo 'Lucy'
As usual, I coloured her with Copics.
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04
Hair and Eyes - B32, B34, B39
Clothes - W00, W01, W03, W05
I used W7 to accentuate her eyelashes and make them a bit longer so they really popped.
I used a sponge and applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot around her, and I distressed the edges of the paper for some texture. Then I added some sparklies and called it done!

I hope you like it! Make sure you check out the blog and join our group on Facebook for monthly contests and "Like" Unky's art page on Facebook too! Thanks for visiting!

Knowledge is a Good Thing

A fun card today with an image from Slinky Tart! I just love colouring these images. There's nothing else like them that I've seen. These pin up style girls are some of my absolute favourites! This one is Knowledge.

I coloured her up with Copics. I decided to have some fun and gave her blonde and pink two toned hair. I used E50's and R80's. I have so much miscellaneous paper, and I can't tell you the brand of what I used, but it did come in a coordinating pad. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, as are the little pearls. I also used a Lattice Spellbinder die.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you liked it!

"I'm Ready For My Close-Up, Mr. DeMille"

The famous line from "Sunset Boulevard," delivered by Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond, is the basis for our theme this month at The East Wind Facebook page. Take your favorite TEW image and crop so only the head remains, for a close up that would rival Norma Desmond's.

I used Lucy Loo 'Arabian Nights' for my DT inspiration.

I coloured her with Copics:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E13, E04
Hair - E49, E47, E44, E41
Eyes - YG17, YG13, YG00 & Prismacolor Pencils Black and Dark Green, plus a white gel pen for highlights (If you like how my eyes turned out, check out Unky's Colouring Therapy on YouTube for a great tutorial!)
The paper is from a DCWV All Dressed Up mat stack; the embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Bo Bunny

While we're having lots of fun over on the Facebook page, don't forget there are TWO challenges every month on the blog also. So THREE chances to show us your talent and win some free images from TEW! Make sure you check it out!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my project for this challenge with you!

Up In The Air!

Today I have a DT creation for our "Up In The Air" themed challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges. The theme is pretty open ended, as you can create anything that has to do with being "up in the air." Let your imagination take flight with this one! The deadline for this challenge is Friday, February 27 at midnight. Pop over there and let us see your creations! We have some fabulous sponsors offering FABULOUS prizes! The sponsors for this challenge are A Day For Daisies, Jessica Weible Illustrations, Sentimental Susan, and Milk Coffee

I chose a Milk Coffee image for my project called "Lisbeth and Balloon".

I coloured her up with Copics, and used paper from the DCWV Citrus mat stack. I free cut the clouds out from white cardstock and added some Copic B0000 to the edges. I adhered the clouds and the image to the base layer with 3D foam squares so they popped out and gave her the illusion of floating.

I really hope you like it! Now head over to the blog and enter your own project for a chance to win!

Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge - No Pink and No Red

Another challenge is going on at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. The current theme is "No Pink and No Red," which might be a little difficult for some with Valentine's Day lurking in the near future. The wonderful sponsors we have on board for this challenge are Faery Ink, The Art of Ronne P. Barton, Bugaboo Stamps, and Oak Pond Creations. They have offered some awesome prizes for the winners. Head over to OMC and check it out! The linkup closes at midnight, February 13, 2015, so make sure you get your creations in before then. They can be any theme you like as long as there is no red and no pink!

My DT make is made with an image from Faery Ink, "Bee-Youtiful Pixie Fae".

I coloured her with Copics, and the papers are from a DCWV Citrus Mat Stack.
The Copics I used for the orange are YR07, YR04, Y38, Y17, Y15, Y11. I also used W9, W7, W5, W3, and W0.

I hope you like it, and I hope you join in on the challenges on our blog!

Hybiscus

Happy Monday! It's another new release day at The East Wind. Starting next week, new releases will be Tuesdays and Fridays. Today's new release is "Hybiscus".

I coloured her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. I kept the layout simple because, to be honest, I have been quite sick and having a hard time getting any crafting done.  I'm sure in a week, I'll be thinking, "I should have done this or that," but right now, I'm just glad I finished her.

Make sure you join us on the Facebook page, where we are having a Alice in Wonderland themed challenge from January 21 - February 17. There are also two challenges on the blog every month. And if you haven't signed up for the newsletter, then go do so NOW! There was a freebie in it this month that is absolutely beautiful. And there will be another freebie in it next month as well.
